National Stadium is officially opened in Warsaw today. Opening day's catchphrase is "oto jestem!". means "I'm right here! "
This stadium cost almost 2 billion Polish zloty and capacity is around 58000 which makes biggest football arena in Poland. It's one of four stadium which built for EURO 2012. As you know Group matches of EURO 2012 will be play in Poland. Other stadiums are in Gdansk, Wroclaw and Poznan. All the stadiums built between 2008 and 2011 besides Poznan Stadium.Of course some part of the stadium has been renewed for tournament. Warsaw stadium will be host of opening match of Euro 2012 at 8th of June between Poland and Greece.
National Stadium (Stadion Narodowy in Polish language) is located pretty close to city center. Just next to Wisla River. Even you can walk to main market square with crossing the bridge or catch a bus-tram for 5 mins from stadium.
There's interesting architecture of stadium. When you look from far it looks giant red and white crown. And with light effects at night it looks more majestic not unlike Allianz Arena.
Usually opening days of new stadiums come with opening match. But today there were several popular polish bands on the stage. 2 weeks later it will host legendary final of Polish cup Legia Warsawa against Wisla Krakow as an opening match.
By the way underground metro line still on progress but unfortunately it wont be active not before 2013. Here is the official link of stadium:
