I will try to upload pictures from different places every week.
I'm starting with ancient Ottoman village from Bursa, Turkey. Well protected historical houses, streets and village life. Where's pretty close to city center. Not more than 15 minutes by drive.
Cumalıkızık settled down foot of Uludağ (Holy Mountain) at around 1300s. There were 4 more villages where Oghuz Turks located. But Cumalıkızık is most famous because all buildings streets take you to old times. Cumalıkızık houses are made out of wood, adobe rubblestones. Most of them have big yards and 2-3 floors. Water channels are located middle of the street. which looks awesome when you look from downhill. There are around 250 historical houses, Mosque, and one Church ruins from Byzantines.
Now you can find pretty Boutique Hotels, small bazaar where you can find fresh products from gardens, homemade village breads and fruit jams, delicious restaurants (I recommend gözleme -pancakes-), and drink tea in Village cafe.
And i can clearly say that best option for weekend breakfast if you are around Bursa.
After this short information you can enjoy pictures from there which i took.
